Once upon a time a girl began eating healthier and bam.... ended up opening a fitness studio. True story!
WELCOME!!
If someone told me 5 years ago that I would be flying solo with four kids and have my own fitness studio I would have snorted with laughter in their face. Guess what?? Five years on, flying solo with four kids and I have opened my own fitness studio!!
I have battled with my weight for as long as I can remember. I spent my teens wishing I could wear the clothes that my friends were wearing. I spent my adult years yearning for a body that would fit into a smaller waistband, pregnant or not but it wasn't until my early thirties, four babies and many dress sizes that I made the decision to take stock and cop myself on. I was sick of sweating during my only workout which was trying everything in the wardrobe on to find something to fit me, hoping it might resemble an ensemble thoughtfully put together.
It was a cold January but the air was humid with new year resolutions. I was determined to stick to mine! I had a big goal. To shed the weight and not endure panic attacks every time I had to get dressed! I set myself two mini goals. I set my mind to losing one stone by my daughter's birthday in March and another by my birthday in June. I had such determination that I beat my goals by May and exceeded them by June. I must admit I was pretty pleased with myself and I had the support of friends, family and strangers along the way. It inspired me so much I wanted to reach out to other women and help them achieve their goals. Fast forward a few years and we have opened Fitness at the BodyShaper to hopefully impact women's lives positively and spread the fitness fever!
The fitness or weight loss journey is called a journey because it is exactly that. You have a starting point and an end in mind. You have smooth sailing and rough terrain. You need to stay focused on on why you are doing it, the benefits of achieving it and knowing when to ask for help! It doesn't need to be a lonely voyage. There is no right time to start, yet there is no excuse good enough to delay beginning. You have no idea where the final destination will bring you physically and emotionally. For me it was my own business and an opportunity to help women just like me. Weight loss, muscle gain, better tone, self-confidence, self-respect and of course skinny jeans are in everyone's reach. If you need help, just get in touch!
